Honor recently debuted its Magic 8 Pro and Magic 8 phones in October 2025. Following this, the company unveiled an intriguing new concept device: the Honor Robot Phone. This innovative smartphone is designed to be a core part of Honor’s AI ecosystem, combining advanced robotics, photography, and multi-modal AI features. The company plans to fully introduce the Honor Robot Phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, where it will showcase its unique pop-up AI camera, complete with a gimbal and a rotating motor.
Honor Robot Phone: Launch and Anticipated Design
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer teased the upcoming Honor Robot Phone on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting its innovative AI camera assistant that emerges from the device’s main camera module. This groundbreaking phone is slated for its official unveiling at MWC 2026 in Barcelona, Spain. The preview showcased its robotic camera, equipped with a gimbal and a rotating motor, promising an “AI brain” and the “mobility of a robot,” according to Honor’s translated statements.
Honor describes the Robot Phone as a truly “revolutionary AI device,” built to deliver multi-modal intelligence, sophisticated robotics, and cutting-edge imaging capabilities.
Although detailed technical specifications remain under wraps, demonstrations illustrate the Honor Robot Phone’s camera acting as a versatile AI assistant. It can identify details about a user’s attire, analyze their environment, and even engage with an infant. The adaptable AI camera appears to integrate a USB Type-C port, potentially allowing for various accessory attachments. The phone itself features a modern hole-punch display, likely housing its front-facing camera.
The phone’s rear design draws parallels to Apple’s latest iPhone 17 series, featuring a central glass cutout encircled by an undefined metallic finish. It’s anticipated to boast a triple-rear camera setup, including the signature pop-up AI camera. An ‘Alpha’ symbol adorns the center of the back panel, suggesting its potential use across Honor’s broader AI product range.
The left edge of the device appears uncluttered, implying that the power and volume buttons are positioned on the right side. For enhanced durability, the Honor Robot Phone’s innovative robot camera will be safely concealed beneath a protective glass cover.
