A brand new update has just arrived for Hades 2, bringing significant changes from Supergiant Games. This first post-launch patch expands the game’s true ending, accelerates progression, and introduces a host of improvements that were rigorously tested over the past week. Players can now enjoy faster advancement through Fated Prophecies, a more elaborate story climax, and buffs to numerous boons and blessings. Additionally, welcome new options include the ability to disable the distracting low-health flash and regulate your in-game FPS.
While the latest Hades 2 update was initially previewed last week, the final release incorporates further refinements based on player feedback. The core highlight remains Supergiant’s addition of several new narrative events leading up to, and following, the true ending. Existing post-credit scenes have also been adjusted to enhance the overall experience.
Players will now need to complete more Underworld clears to fully uncover all the new content related to the expanded ending. For those who have already progressed past this point in the game, a new ‘Returning to a Real Possibility’ cauldron incantation has been added, allowing you to replay previous story events, including the grand finale.
Another highly anticipated change is the accelerated progression for numerous key events within the Fated List of Minor Prophecies, many of which are tied to the game’s epilogue. The Kudos cost for a variety of decorative items at the Crossroads has been reduced, with players receiving refunds for any items previously purchased at the higher price. Furthermore, the prerequisites for certain cauldron incantations to manifest have been eased, and the Music Maker now features the Primordial Chaos theme as an additional selection.
Players will be pleased to find a substantial number of buffs applied to various boons, blessings, and upgrades, including some improvements not seen in the initial patch preview. Notably, securing those powerful yet rare duo boons just got easier; the Favor boon from Chaos now significantly boosts their appearance rate, as does the Yarn of Ariadne available at the Well of Charon. This is fantastic news, considering how much these boons can dramatically alter your Hades 2 builds.
Personally, I’m especially grateful for the new option to disable the relentless ‘danger pulse’ flashes that occur when your health is low. While it’s useful to be aware of imminent danger, these flashes often become more of an annoyance than a helpful warning when quick healing isn’t an option. The update also includes a feature to cap your maximum FPS when VSync is disabled.
