Get ready for a thrilling new era of musical anime! Esteemed creator Noriyasu Agematsu, known for his work on the beloved ‘Symphogear’ series, alongside powerhouses Elements Garden and KADOKAWA, has officially unveiled his latest project: ‘GHOST CONCERT: missing Songs’. Described as a fresh “Song Battle Series” and the spiritual successor to ‘Symphogear’, this highly anticipated TV anime is slated to enchant audiences in 2026.
Initial glimpses of the series, including a captivating visual and a teaser, have already piqued interest. The main cast features talented voice actresses Minori Fujidera, who will portray the protagonist Seria Aiba, and Rina Hidaka, bringing the character of Cleopatra to life.
Noriyasu Agematsu’s impressive resume includes being the original creator of iconic series such as ‘Symphogear’, ‘VISUAL PRISON’, and ‘Utano☆Princesama Legend Star’. He also contributed as a concept planner for ‘Classic★Stars’ and ‘Technoroid OVERMIND’, and served as music producer for the popular ‘BanG Dream!’ franchise. Agematsu, a founding member of the musical group Elements Garden, first launched the ‘GHOST CONCERT’ indie project in 2017, driven by a desire to “return to his roots” as a composer, marking his 20th anniversary in the field.
Guiding the production of ‘GHOST CONCERT: missing Songs’ is director and series composer Masato Jinbo, known for his work on ‘SUPER HXEROS’, who will be leading the team at studio ENGI (‘Medalist’). The talented production staff also includes Masaaki Uikawa as Character Designer, Tetsuya Kusama and Atsushi Satomi as Art Directors, Takeyuki Takahashi as Art Designer, Aiko Matsuyama handling Color Design, Atsushi Sato as Director of Photography, Yuji Kondo as Editor, Masanori Tsuchiya as Sound Director, Rei Ueno managing Sound Effects, and the incomparable Elements Garden composing the music.
The intriguing premise of ‘GHOST CONCERT: missing Songs’ transports us to the year 2045, a world where the very act of singing is strictly forbidden. All music is generated and performed by an advanced application called MiucS, rendering human vocal expression obsolete. Our young protagonist, Seria Aiba, finds her world turned upside down when, while out with friends, she unexpectedly hears a sound that shouldn’t exist: singing. Even more astonishing, the voice emanates from an otherworldly entity – a “Great Ghost.” This discovery leads her into the enigmatic world of psychic mediums known as TERA, and the powerful resonance of the “Possession Requiem.” As the mystery unfolds, the series promises to delve deep into its haunting central question: “This is the story of how I became a ghost.”
