Get ready to trade your monster-catching gear for a watering can! The developers behind the sensationally popular Palworld, Pocketpair, have officially announced their first-ever spin-off game: Palworld: Palfarm. This new title is designed to be a significantly cozier experience than its predecessor. As the name cleverly suggests, you’ll be teaming up with your beloved Pals for a heartwarming journey of farming, crafting, and tranquil living. It’s an adventure that leans heavily into the charming aesthetics of classic farming sims like Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley, offering a stark yet welcome contrast to Palworld’s more intense survival elements.
Today’s announcement came with a delightful new trailer, giving us our first glimpse into Palfarm. The game is confirmed as a slice-of-life farming and crafting simulator, set once again on the beautiful Palpagos Islands. Here, your familiar Pals will become your loyal companions in building the farm of your dreams. You’ll be able to grow crops, cook alongside your Pals, browse their unique stores, and even exchange gifts. And before you ask – no, this time around, your Pals are strictly farming buddies, not ingredients for dinner. Mostly.
We say ‘mostly’ because it wouldn’t be Palworld without a little chaos. It seems some rogue Pals will attempt to raid your tranquil farm, forcing you to defend your hard-earned harvest. And, in a familiar twist, should these unwelcome guests fall in battle, they just might drop items that bear a striking resemblance to… well, food. So, perhaps a tiny bit of Pal-consumption might still be on the menu in Palfarm. Let’s not dwell on it too much!
Despite its overwhelmingly charming premise, Palfarm retains some of the original game’s unique ‘edges.’ Players can pet their Pals, and even marry other humans with Pals acting as matchmakers and officiants! Yet, the trailer also surprisingly showcased a black market where players can acquire a gun. The exact purpose of firearms in such a seemingly cozy world remains intriguingly vague. Again, maybe it’s best not to overthink it!
Notably, the trailer showed off a number of Pals that can join you to help on the farm, including what seems to be one unannounced new Pal, Sekhmet, seen working as a blacksmith alongside Anubis. For those who enjoy shared experiences, the game’s Steam page confirms that multiplayer will be a key feature, allowing friends to build their dream farms together.
While a definitive release date for Palfarm is still under wraps, the game is currently confirmed for PC. However, considering the original Palworld’s widespread success across multiple platforms, it’s certainly possible that Palfarm could expand to other consoles in the future. Meanwhile, the original Palworld continues its journey in early access, with Pocketpair planning a minor update in December and aiming for a significant 1.0 launch sometime next year.
