IIT Guwahati has announced an extension for the GATE 2026 registration deadline. Candidates now have until October 6, 2025, to submit their applications. For those looking to register with a late fee, the window is open until October 9, 2025.
The GATE 2026 examination is scheduled to take place on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2025, with results to be declared on March 19, 2025.
GATE 2026: Required Documents
Applicants need to prepare the following documents for the registration process:
- Candidate’s photograph
- Candidate’s signature
- Scanned copy of a valid photo identity document
- Scanned copy of the Category (SC/ST) certificate (if applicable, in PDF format)
- Scanned copy of UDID (preferred) or PwD Certificate (if applicable, in PDF format)
- Scanned copy of Dyslexic Certificate (if applicable, in PDF format)
- Relevant Annexure(s) (if applicable, in PDF format)
How to Apply for GATE 2026
Follow these simple steps to complete your online application:
- Visit the official IIT GATE website: gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
- Click on the GATE 2026 registration link on the homepage.
- Enter your registration details on the new page.
- Log in to your account after successful registration.
- Complete the application form and proceed to pay the application fee.
- Submit the form and download the confirmation page.
- Keep a hard copy of the application for future reference.
The application fee is ₹1000 for Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates (per test paper) and ₹2000 for all other candidates, including foreign nationals (per test paper). Payment must be made online. For further details, please refer to the official IIT GATE website.
