Sucker Punch Productions’ breathtaking open-world samurai adventure, Ghost of Yotei, has generally performed splendidly on PlayStation 5, but like any grand title, it has its quirks. Notably, some players have faced infuriating, permanent mission-blocking issues. Good news, samurai: a brand-new patch is here to tackle these unexpected roadblocks, ensuring your journey to clash steel and hunt the formidable Yotei Six continues without a hitch.
The development team has publicly shared the comprehensive patch notes for Update 1.010 on their official website. This update primarily boosts game stability, addressing two rare crash scenarios and correcting placeholder assets that appeared during a significant story sequence. However, these are minor compared to the extensive list of gameplay refinements designed to make the PS5 experience even more seamless.
Imagine your progress grinding to a halt in “The Way of the Kusarigama” simply because you fast-traveled at an inopportune moment. Or perhaps you’ve been stuck in “The Tale of the Oni” after skipping an armor upgrade scene and leaving the mission area. What about setting up a cozy campsite in crucial stealth grass during “The Kusarigama’s Shame,” finding yourself without flash bombs in “Fighting Fire with Fire,” or even saving mid-interrogation before dealing with Saito’s goons in “Higashi Lumberyard”? These are just a few examples, but you get the picture.
The good news is that these highly specific, often bizarre, and “permanent mission blocking” bugs have now been thoroughly eliminated. With these pesky issues resolved, there’s nothing left to stop you from pursuing vengeance against the villainous Lord Saito and his relentless forces.
Ghost of Yotei, a title praised with a “superb” 9/10 score in GameSpot’s review, is currently available for PlayStation 5, ready for you to dive back in without fear of game-breaking glitches.
