The Witcher Season 4 marks a significant chapter for the acclaimed series, not just with Liam Hemsworth stepping in as Geralt of Rivia, but also as a crucial turning point for Freya Allan’s character, Ciri. This season is set to adapt key events from Andrzej Sapkowski’s third Witcher novel, ‘Baptism of Fire’, and Allan made sure she was fully prepared for the challenge.
In a recent interview, Allan revealed that she reread the original books to thoroughly prepare for Ciri’s upcoming narratives. “Going into Seasons 4 and 5, I felt like I was carrying out some of my favorite Ciri storylines,” Allan expressed. “It truly meant a lot to me. I also believe these storylines are moments fans have long awaited, representing iconic instances for Ciri in the books. More than ever, I relied heavily on the source material. It was paramount for me to honor that, and I constantly kept the fans in mind. I wanted to ensure I understood every detail of Ciri’s story within the novels.”

The Witcher showrunner, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, commented on Allan’s dedication, recalling how the actress would often approach her with a book in hand to discuss specific scenes and their portrayal. While specific scene details were not disclosed, Allan’s commitment to the source material is clear.
Liam Hemsworth, the new Geralt, recently shared that he was a fan of ‘The Witcher’ prior to his casting. The fourth season also introduces other notable new cast members, including ‘The Matrix’ star Laurence Fishburne as Regis, described as a “world-wide barber-surgeon with a mysterious past.” Joining them are Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy, Danny Woodburn, Linden Porco, Eve Ridley, and Clive Russell.
Fans can anticipate the premiere of The Witcher Season 4 on Netflix on October 30. While Season 5 is confirmed to conclude the series, its release window is yet to be announced.
