Get ready, racing fans! Forza Horizon 6 is speeding onto PC and Xbox Series X/S on May 19, with a PlayStation 5 release planned for later this year. Following an exciting sneak peek at Xbox’s Developer Direct last month, Playground Games has now pulled back the curtain on a host of thrilling new features for this highly anticipated open-world racing game.
Building on the January Developer Direct reveals, Playground Games has expanded on ten key new features for Forza Horizon 6. The game takes players to a vibrant rendition of Japan, complete with iconic landmarks such as Tokyo’s bustling Shibuya Crossing, Ginko Avenue, and the towering Tokyo Tower.
Beyond the urban sprawl, players can tear through stunning real-life Japanese mountain passes, including the legendary Mount Haruna and picturesque Bandai Azuma.
Dynamic seasonal changes are making a more ‘dramatic’ comeback in Forza Horizon 6. Each season will transform the world with unique visual shifts in landscapes, vegetation, and weather patterns. Even outside of typical winter, the Alpine regions of the map will offer thrilling snow gameplay experiences.
Rev Up for Exciting Car Meets and Fresh Events
New event types are joining the lineup, including ‘Horizon Rush,’ where players can tackle challenging obstacle courses scattered throughout the expansive map.
Get ready for social cruising with dedicated car meets, allowing players to gather online in the open world, flaunt their custom rides, download unique tunes and liveries, and even purchase a replica of a car that catches their eye.
Across the map, you’ll find ‘Time Attack Circuits’ – special tracks designed for players to push their limits and record their fastest lap times.

Unleash Your Creativity with Extensive Customization
Embracing the series’ rich customization tradition, Forza Horizon 6 offers players unparalleled freedom to personalize their game. Design and adorn your garages to showcase your prized car collection. Furthermore, create your unique ‘Estate’ in the open world, a fully customizable space where you can construct and decorate structures to your heart’s content.
Vehicle customization reaches new heights, allowing players to apply liveries directly onto car windows. Expect fresh rim options and the exciting ability to mix and match different rims for the front and rear wheels. Cars will also realistically display wear and tear over time. Keep an eye out for rare aftermarket cars hidden across the map, which can be test-driven and purchased at a discount.

Among the innovative new gameplay additions is a ‘Car Proximity Radar.’ This helpful toggle assists players in detecting vehicles in their blind spots during races, significantly reducing accidental collisions. It’s particularly useful for those who prefer driving from the immersive cockpit, hood, or bumper camera views, according to Playground Games.
Expect an even more immersive experience with updated car and environmental sounds, an expanded roster of vehicles, and refined steering animations.
Boasting the largest open-world map in the series’ history, Forza Horizon 6 is now available for pre-order on Xbox and Steam. Opting for the Premium Edition grants players a four-day head start, beginning May 15. Playground Games has also confirmed that PlayStation 5 players can look forward to its release later in the year.
