The wait is finally over! After months of whispers and leaks, the much-anticipated Fortnite x The Simpsons season is officially launching today. However, you can’t jump in just yet, as Fortnite is currently undergoing essential maintenance. This downtime follows the ‘Welcome, Our Alien Overlords’ event, which treated players to an exclusive Simpsons short film revealing how Springfield found its way into the Fortnite universe.
Epic Games typically takes Fortnite offline for major updates, usually during weekdays. This special season launch, however, is scheduled to debut on a Saturday evening, aiming for primetime enjoyment. This explains the current maintenance period – Epic wants to ensure the Fortnite x Simpsons crossover makes a grand entrance on a busy weekend night.
A teaser video for the new season was also released, showcasing some of the exciting content.
When Will Springfield Come to Life in Fortnite?
Epic Games estimates that Fortnite servers will be back online for The Simpsons season around 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. Keep in mind, though, that this is an approximation. Historically, Fortnite’s maintenance periods can be a bit unpredictable, sometimes finishing earlier or later than planned. Downtime usually spans between four and seven hours, with the current estimate landing right in the middle at 5.5 hours. So, be ready for a potential launch a little before or after the stated time.
Once the servers are live, prepare for a completely transformed experience! This monumental Fortnite x The Simpsons collaboration will introduce a brand-new, cel-shaded map directly inspired by Springfield. Players can also look forward to a full Battle Pass brimming with Simpsons-themed items and an entirely revamped loot pool. This crossover is shaping up to be one of Fortnite’s most comprehensive and exciting collaborations to date.
