Fortnite players are currently facing a significant server downtime as the popular battle royale game prepares for its much-awaited crossover event and mini-season themed around the iconic animated show, “The Simpsons.” Epic Games has officially announced that the game is offline for scheduled maintenance, leading to a global outage.
This extended downtime has left many eager players wondering about the exact time the servers will be back online. Social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), have been buzzing with questions from the community, with many users inquiring about an estimated time for the servers to return. Queries like “when will the servers be back up,” “Can we get a time estimate when servers will come back up?” and “Any word when Fortnite servers will be back on?” are flooding the platform.
When will Fortnite servers be back up?
The latest Fortnite update, version 38.00, is scheduled to be released on November 1st across all major gaming platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Android devices.
Epic Games confirmed via X that the Fortnite servers were taken offline immediately following the conclusion of the “Welcome, Our Alien Overlords” live event. The maintenance period commenced at 3:30 PM GMT (11:30 AM ET / 8:30 AM PT) on November 1st.
According to Epic’s official server status page, the downtime is anticipated to last for approximately five hours. This suggests that, if all goes according to plan, Fortnite servers should be back online by 8 PM GMT (4 PM ET / 1 PM PT). However, it’s worth noting that Fortnite server maintenance schedules have been known to occasionally deviate from their planned duration. GameSpot has reported that players might want to add or subtract an hour from the estimated wait time to account for any potential delays.
Fortnite and The Simpsons hype up upcoming event
Both Fortnite and The Simpsons have been actively building excitement for this massive crossover. The official Simpsons account on X shared a post saying, “Woah, Fortnite has landed in Springfield! It’s a shameless corporate mashup you won’t want to miss. Jump in later today! Until then check out our trailer.”
Fortnite itself shared a glimpse of the map for the upcoming event, tweeting, “80 players, all new Simpsons Map, so much new to explore soon! Where we droppin’ in Springfield?”
Adding to the excitement, the crossover will feature original Simpsons shorts released by Fortnite, available both in-game and weekly on Disney+. The first episode, titled “Apocalypse D’Oh,” is set to premiere on November 1st, followed by “Sugar High” on November 10th, “Multiplidiocy” on November 17th, and “The Incredible Bulk” on November 24th.
