Following the highly successful launch of Konami’s newest survival horror title, Silent Hill f, last month, another acclaimed entry from 2024 is reportedly making its way to PlayStation Plus. Bloober Team’s critically acclaimed remake of Silent Hill 2 is anticipated to join the PS Plus Game Catalog in October, just in time for Halloween.
This exciting news comes courtesy of renowned leaker Billbil-kun, known for consistently accurate information regarding games and hardware. In a recent report, the insider revealed that the Silent Hill 2 remake is slated to be the premier title added to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog this October. Gamers can expect the game to become available on the subscription service around October 21st, barring any unforeseen changes.
The addition of the Silent Hill 2 remake complements other horror games already available on PS Plus this month. Remedy Entertainment’s highly praised Alan Wake 2 joined PS Plus Essential’s monthly lineup on October 7th, alongside the indie puzzle game Cocoon and the quirky Goat Simulator 3. It’s worth noting that Sony has yet to officially confirm its plans for the October Game Catalog additions. The Game Catalog is accessible to subscribers of the PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium tiers. The Silent Hill 2 remake garnered significant praise upon its initial release.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Potentially Expanding to Xbox
The Silent Hill 2 remake, developed by Bloober Team (who also recently released the survival horror game Cronos: The New Dawn), originally launched as a PS5 console exclusive on October 7, 2024. However, there are strong rumors circulating that the horror title could also be making its way to Xbox platforms.
Another prominent leaker, Dusk Golem, recently indicated that Bloober Team intends to announce an Xbox version of the Silent Hill 2 remake in the near future. This announcement is expected to arrive alongside confirmations of a PS5 Pro patch and other game-related updates. Furthermore, publisher Konami might soon unveil a DLC for the Silent Hill 2 remake, titled “Born From a Wish.” This content release could coincide with the upcoming “Return to Silent Hill” film adaptation, set to debut in theaters on January 23, 2026.
Currently, the Silent Hill 2 remake is available for PS5 and PC players. Silent Hill f, which launched on September 25th, is accessible on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, having already sold over 1 million copies by September 26th.
