Walton Goggins, the acclaimed star of the hit series Fallout, has playfully responded to fellow actor Pete Davidson’s recent prediction that fans might eventually grow weary of him, much like some have reportedly done with Pedro Pascal.
There’s been a growing conversation among the public about ‘Pascal fatigue,’ suggesting that Pedro Pascal’s frequent appearances across numerous film and television projects might be leading to an oversaturation in media. Davidson specifically highlighted this sentiment during an appearance on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast.
Davidson recounted Pascal’s journey, saying that just a couple of years ago, he was a dedicated, hardworking actor who struggled for recognition. Then, he exploded in popularity, with fans affectionately calling him ‘Daddy.’ However, Davidson noted that within a year, as Pascal started appearing in everything, some fans began to express a desire for him to ‘go away.’
Davidson emphasized the need to give celebrities time to adjust to such rapid fame, especially after decades of hard work. He pointed out that Pascal, after 30 years in the industry, is still learning to navigate the simple act of getting coffee without being interrupted by a fan.
The comedian then turned his prediction to Goggins, who is celebrated for his role as Rick Hatchett in The White Lotus and is set to return as The Ghoul in Fallout Season 2. Davidson suggested that Goggins would be the next target of this quick ‘build ’em up, tear ’em down’ phenomenon, observing how rapidly public sentiment can shift in a matter of months.
Goggins took to social media, specifically Instagram, to address the prediction after it was covered by The Hollywood Reporter. He candidly acknowledged that some people might be ‘tired of hearing my homilies’ but firmly stated that he feels a responsibility to promote his projects, including Fallout Season 2, to honor the hard work of everyone involved in bringing these stories to life.
He humorously advised fans to skip any stories featuring his name if they weren’t interested, while also expressing genuine gratitude for even being part of such a discussion. Goggins concluded with a characteristic, no-nonsense remark: ‘If saying yes in life more than saying no is a crime, then I’m guilty as charged.’
When asked directly about facing the ‘Pascal treatment,’ Goggins channeled his Fallout character, The Ghoul, delivering a truly unforgettable line: ‘If this headline is a possibility or an inevitability… if this is my fate… Well… F*** it. I’m going to enjoy the F*** OUT OF IT.’
Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal is indeed keeping busy, with upcoming roles including The Mandalorian in the Star Wars film The Mandalorian and Grogu, and Reed Richards in the MCU movie Avengers: Doomsday next year.
