A catastrophic explosion has ripped through a Russian munitions factory in the Urals, claiming the lives of at least ten individuals, according to initial reports. The incident took place at the Plastmass military plant in Kopeisk, a city near Chelyabinsk, where witnesses reported a terrifying fireball following the blast.
Regional governor Alexei Teksler confirmed the tragic death toll and stated that 18 others sustained injuries. While the cause of the explosion remains under investigation, Teksler emphasized that there is no indication of it being a drone attack.
An official day of mourning has been declared in the affected region, and a criminal inquiry has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the explosion. Authorities confirmed that the fire at the plant has been extinguished.
