If you’ve been eagerly awaiting Little Nightmares 3 since its initial reveal, you’re in for a treat! Although the full game doesn’t launch until October 10, developer Supermassive Games has just released a free demo across all platforms, and you can jump in and play it right now.
In this thrilling demo, you’ll guide Low and Alone through The Necropolis, an eerie, abandoned city nestled in a vast desert. Be on high alert for the menacing Monster Baby as you delve into the world of Little Nightmares 3 for the very first time. You have the option to experience the demo alone or team up with a friend in online co-op. Just remember, online co-op requires both players to be on the same platform, as crossplay functionality is not available. However, the demo does support cross-generation play, meaning PlayStation 5 players can team up with those on PlayStation 4, for example.

Keep in mind that any progress made in the demo will not carry over to the full game. But don’t worry, there’s no stated end date for the demo, so you can explore The Necropolis countless times to satisfy your anticipation until the full release.
This third installment marks the series’ debut into multiplayer, focusing on the journey of Low and Alone, two inseparable friends desperate to escape the nightmarish realm known as the Nowhere. Although designed with co-op in mind, solo players can still immerse themselves in the adventure, with AI intelligently controlling the second character. The full game launches on October 10 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming Switch 2.
For those looking to pre-order, various editions are available. The Amazon-exclusive Mirror Edition, priced at $110, offers a collector’s box, steelbook case, miniature Low and Alone figurines, an art book, and the game’s Deluxe Edition digital content, which includes two additional DLC chapters, Residents Costumes Pack, Ferryman Costumes Set, and the Dark Six Costumes Set (a preorder bonus). It’s a great value for collectors, especially noting the heartwarming steelbook design where Low and Alone reach for each other when the case is opened. If collectibles aren’t your focus, the Deluxe Edition alone costs $60 and includes all the digital extras for Switch 2, Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X. Finally, the Standard Edition is available for $40 across PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch 2, and Switch.
