According to Vats, this specific firmware is designated for the international variant of the Samsung Galaxy S24+, identifiable by its model number SM-S926B.
This finding adds to previous reports of One UI 8.5 test builds appearing for the international variant of the upcoming Galaxy S25 (SM-S938B) and the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It’s important to note that while its presence on Samsung’s server confirms active development, it doesn’t provide an immediate timeline for the official One UI 8.5 firmware release for these Galaxy models.
Earlier, a detailed leak about the One UI 8.5 firmware offered a glimpse into several anticipated features. A major revamp is expected for the Phone app, showcasing a redesigned interface. Instead of spanning the entire screen width, the Dialer, Call Logs, and Contacts tabs are rumored to be neatly organized within a pill-shaped capsule at the bottom.
The app is also set to introduce a new ‘Direct Voicemail’ feature. Similar to iOS’s Live Voicemail, this functionality will reportedly offer live transcriptions of recorded messages.
Following the Phone app’s lead, the Studio app in One UI 8.5 might also receive a new navigation bar. It’s expected to include a ‘Stories’ tab at the bottom, joining the existing Pictures, Albums, and Search options.
Further enhancements are said to include a refreshed user interface within the Device Care section, a new splash screen for the Galaxy Store app, and an updated version of the app launcher.
