While new editions often accompany film adaptations, they are usually paperbacks. This standalone hardcover is a significant release for dedicated King collectors. This is the first time ‘The Long Walk’, originally published in 1979 under King’s pseudonym Richard Bachman, will be widely available in a standalone hardcover format at major retailers. In 1985, after King revealed his true identity, ‘The Long Walk’ was collected with three other Bachman books in ‘The Bachman Books’ hardcover. A high-priced Limited Edition from Centipede Press was also released in 2023.
