OnePlus is reportedly developing an impressive new high-end smartphone, set to launch later this year. This device would arrive alongside the highly anticipated OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Ace 6 series. According to a prominent Chinese tipster, this new phone is expected to feature Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC and boast a battery capacity exceeding 8,000mAh – making it the largest battery ever seen in a OnePlus handset. The Ace 6 will debut with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the OnePlus 15 is confirmed to be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip.

A recent post by Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster on Weibo, revealed that this new handset is in development. It is described as having a flat screen with a 1.5K resolution and an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. The device is said to be driven by the unreleased Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. Crucially, it’s also rumored to come with a massive battery, potentially 8,000mAh or even larger.
An accompanying image in the original leak, a screenshot from Weibo, added visual confirmation to these details.
Although the tipster didn’t explicitly name OnePlus in the initial post, subsequent comments strongly indicated that the device is indeed a OnePlus smartphone. Further details from the tipster suggest a launch towards the end of 2025, which aligns perfectly with the expected unveiling of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.
The tipster also mentioned that the performance of this upcoming phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset could be comparable to that of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is confirmed for the OnePlus Ace 6.
