Are you eager to know when the Black Ops 7 beta kicks off? It feels like summer just began, but we’re already anticipating those crisp autumn evenings, perfect for diving into the latest Call of Duty installment.
With the official Black Ops 7 release date unveiled at Gamescom ONL, the burning question on every gamer’s mind is: When can we actually play it? Good news! As tradition holds for this iconic FPS game series, a massive multiplayer beta is just weeks away, promising a full week of Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta action.
Gaining Entry to the Black Ops 7 Early Access Beta
Just like previous years, pre-ordering Black Ops 7 on any platform guarantees you early access to the beta. But if you prefer to skip the pre-order, you’ll have another chance to snag an early access beta code through BO7 Twitch drops on September 30, 2025.
For detailed instructions on securing early access without a pre-order, be sure to check out our dedicated Black Ops 7 Twitch drops guide, and don’t forget to tune into CoD Next on Tuesday, September 30!
Beyond early access, pre-ordering either the Vault Edition or the standard edition unlocks additional perks. Opting for the Vault Edition not only includes beta access but also grants players a BlackCell Battle Pass for a full season, an exclusive Operator collection, a Mastercraft weapon collection, an Ultra GobbleGum Pack for Zombies mode, and a Permanent Unlock Token.
Based on previous Black Ops beta FAQs, digital pre-orders automatically grant beta access. For physical, in-store purchases, beta codes will typically be emailed or printed on your receipt.
Official Black Ops 7 Beta Dates Revealed
Mark your calendars! The Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta is scheduled to run from Thursday, October 2, to Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and is split between closed early access and an open beta.
The closed early access beta will run from October 2 to October 5, giving pre-order holders first dibs. After that, the beta opens its doors to everyone for the final three days. Importantly, both phases of the beta will be available across all platforms: PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
This year’s beta schedule presents a unique approach for Call of Duty, differing from previous years where closed and open betas typically occurred in separate weeks. This means players without early access will have weekend-free access, a strategic move likely intended to incentivize pre-orders before the game potentially launches on Game Pass.
While the Black Ops 7 beta is undeniably exciting, there’s still plenty to do in its predecessor. Before diving into the new experience, consider wrapping up the Zombies Reckoning main quest or hunting down any remaining Zombies easter eggs you might have overlooked in Black Ops 6. And, of course, don’t miss out on the latest BO6 events in standard multiplayer!
