While many modern ARPGs like Diablo 4, Last Epoch, and Path of Exile embrace a live-service model with seasonal resets, Titan Quest 2 carves its own path. Following in the footsteps of its beloved 2006 predecessor, developer Grimlore Games is crafting a classic, self-contained adventure designed for replayability with diverse character builds. This approach has already seen significant success, and now, its highly anticipated second chapter has officially arrived!
The new update, which arrived ahead of schedule, plunges players into the ‘Northern Beaches’ region. Here, your hero’s quest to confront Nemesis deepens. While the early access launch and first act were impressive, the true scope of TQ2 and its place among the best ‘Diablo-like’ games will become clearer with the full campaign. Early indications are highly promising, with its Steam reviews currently boasting a ‘very positive’ rating from 84% of players.

From my perspective, Titan Quest 2 has been quite enjoyable, but a common early access concern was the limited content. Releasing another expansive region promptly is a smart move by Grimlore Games, who have actually exceeded their initial roadmap! The ‘Northern Beaches’ delivers exactly what players crave: ‘a vast new area filled with fated and world quests, nine challenging dungeons, and an abundance of hidden treasures.’
As you traverse the Northern Beaches, you’ll once again confront the Ichthians. However, these familiar adversaries have received a significant power boost! Their ranks are now reinforced by menacing new enemies like the fearsome shark-like Bruisers and the grotesque Ketos Spawn. Throughout this second act, you’ll also clash with a variety of other mythological creatures, from animated Living Statues to swift Hippokampos Foals.
Prepare for epic showdowns as the main storyline pits you against three formidable bosses. Thankfully, you’ll have ample chances to power up! The level cap has been increased to 45, and the fourth tier of all Titan Quest 2 masteries is now accessible. For newcomers, remember that combining any two masteries lets you forge unique hybrid classes, offering incredible build diversity. This update adds seven new active skills and fourteen passive abilities for you to explore.
The game’s itemization has received a significant overhaul, particularly with the new item affix tier system now applied to “almost all affixes.” This exciting change means upgrades will no longer be minor percentage bumps, but truly impactful and noticeable power spikes. You can also hunt for eleven brand new unique items! Grimlore has implemented other welcome quality-of-life changes, including enhanced controller support and the ability to hide your UI – perfect for capturing stunning screenshots of Titan Quest 2’s breathtaking environments.
The ‘Northern Beaches’ Chapter Two update for Titan Quest 2 is available now! You can grab the game on Steam Early Access at a 10% discount until Monday, October 6, priced at $26.99 / £22.49. For a deeper dive into all the changes, check out the full patch notes from Grimlore. The developers kindly note that while this update arrived ahead of schedule, future updates may not always follow the same accelerated timeline.
