Calling all Transformers enthusiasts! You can now grab the incredible Optimus Prime Lego set at a significant markdown on Amazon, just in time for their Prime Big Deal Days. Originally priced at $180, this impressive 1,508-piece model of the iconic Autobot leader is currently available for just $156.39. Should Amazon run out, Target is offering the same set for $158. What makes this set truly special is its fantastic 2-in-1 design, allowing Optimus Prime to seamlessly transform from a majestic robot into a powerful truck—a standout feature within the Lego Icons Transformers collection.
Finding Optimus Prime in stock has been quite a challenge lately, primarily due to the recent launch of Lego’s Soundwave Transformers set. Initially an exclusive at Lego Stores in August, this 1,505-piece Soundwave build became available at other major retailers starting October 1st. Currently, Amazon has the versatile 2-in-1 Decepticon display model, which transforms into a classic cassette player, ready for purchase. However, we highly recommend checking Walmart’s deal, as they’re selling the brand-new Soundwave Lego set for $180, a sweet $10 off its original $190 price tag.

Discover all the details about the expanding Lego Icons Transformers series, which now boasts three beloved characters, all sporting their timeless G1-era designs. The 950-piece Bumblebee set is also up for grabs at a reduced price of $86 (down from $90) on both Amazon and Walmart.
Lego Icons: Optimus Prime Transformers Collectible Model (1,508 Pieces)
$156.39 (was $180)
This Optimus Prime model is a stunning, highly detailed recreation of the Autobot leader’s iconic G1 design. Boasting an impressive 19 points of articulation, you can pose him in countless dynamic ways in his robot form. Essentially, this Lego scale-model acts like a premium 13.5-inch action figure, offering more movable parts than typically seen in a Lego build, thanks to its innovative 2-in-1 transformation.
Converting Optimus from his formidable robot mode to his sleek truck form and back again is surprisingly simple. While your first few transformations might take a couple of minutes, with a little practice, you’ll be able to switch modes in under a minute!
More than just a transformer, Optimus comes packed with interactive features and accessories, making it one of the most engaging builds for adult collectors. He can wield brick-built replicas of his signature ion blaster and Energon axe. You can effortlessly attach or detach his jetpack and even switch between two distinct waist panels. The twin chest windows cleverly open to reveal the legendary Matrix of Leadership. Plus, the set includes an Energon cube and a display plaque to complement your model.
Given Lego’s extensive range of vehicle display models, it’s truly remarkable how polished Optimus Prime’s truck mode is; you could easily mistake it for a standalone vehicle that doesn’t transform into a robot! In truck configuration, Optimus measures 10.5 x 4.5 x 5.5 inches.
Like many premium Lego sets designed for adult collectors, Optimus Prime offers a more intricate building experience than your average kit. The diverse assortment of traditional bricks and unique pieces makes for a truly satisfying construction process. Depending on your familiarity with large Lego sets, you can expect to spend anywhere from three to six hours bringing Optimus to life.
Lego Icons: Bumblebee Transformers Collectible Model (950 Pieces)
$86 (was $90)
After two years of solo adventures, Optimus Prime finally got some company in the brick-built universe last summer when his trusty pal, Bumblebee, arrived!
While Lego’s 950-piece Bumblebee kit hasn’t seen a massive price drop yet, this smaller, buildable figure remains one of the most exciting Lego sets available for under $100. It features multiple articulation points and allows for a speedy transformation of the beloved Autobot from robot to car.
In robot mode, Bumblebee stands 9.5 inches tall, converting to 8.5 inches long in vehicle mode. His design is faithfully inspired by the character’s classic 1980s appearance. The set includes a detachable ion blaster, a jetpack, and an informative display plaque.
Lego Icons: Soundwave Transformers Collectible Model (1,505 pieces)
$180 (was $190) at Walmart
The newest addition to the Transformers Lego line-up officially brought the Decepticons into the mix. Soundwave, a 1,505-piece, 13-inch display model, is impressively similar in both height and piece count to the Optimus Prime set.
Just like Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, Soundwave’s design is a nostalgic nod to his G1-era look. Uniquely, this 2-in-1 build transforms into a boombox, and even better, it features authentic sound effects and classic dialogue lines accessible by pressing Soundwave’s play button!
Adding to its uniqueness, the set includes buildable figures of Ravage and Laserbeak, both of whom can also transform! Once converted into their cassette forms, Ravage and Laserbeak can be neatly stored within Soundwave’s iconic cassette deck.
A detailed brick-built information plaque showcases Soundwave’s technical specifications, including his power statistics. A miniature cassette tape is also included, perfectly complementing the display.
Soundwave first hit the scene on August 4th as a temporary Lego Store exclusive, before becoming widely available at major retailers on October 1st.
