The long-awaited moment has arrived! Final Fantasy 14’s newest update, featuring the highly anticipated crossover with Monster Hunter Wilds, is finally here. While players of Capcom’s cooperative adventure have already had their taste of this exciting collaboration, it’s now FF14 fans’ turn to dive in. Get ready as Wilds’ formidable Guardian Arkveld makes a dramatic entrance into the beloved MMORPG, setting the stage for an unforgettable battle. But that’s not all; Patch 7.35 delivers a treasure trove of content, including new questlines, the challenging Pilgrim’s Traverse deep dungeon, and a whole lot more to explore!
If you’ve ventured into the Dawntrail expansion and reached Magic level 100 in Final Fantasy 14, you can now journey to the Windfall Wilds. Arkveld, one of Monster Hunter Wilds’ most fearsome creatures, appears in its Guardian form as your new adversary in an intense eight-player encounter. For those seeking an even greater challenge, an Extreme version of Windfall Wilds is also accessible through the Raid Finder.
Victorious adventurers will find enticing rewards awaiting them, including a Veldian weapon coffer upon successful completion. Furthermore, you can gather precious Guardian Scales from Arkveld’s defeated form, which can then be traded at the Tuliyollal smithy for an array of powerful items and unique weapons. Beyond this formidable encounter with Guardian Arkveld, an additional Monster Hunter Wilds-themed quest, “The White Wanderer,” also awaits discovery.
But wait, there’s more! Several other new quests have been introduced, including three tied to the Pilgrim’s Traverse dungeon. Square Enix is keeping one particularly mysterious quest under wraps, simply labeling it “???” in the Patch 7.35 notes. This cryptic adventure will only unlock once you’ve conquered “the area marked by the final stone of Pilgrim’s Traverse.” Speaking of Pilgrim’s Traverse, this new roguelike deep dungeon will lead you through dozens of zones, requiring adventurers to be level 91 or higher. Each area features three treasure coffers brimming with rewards, but beware: one might be booby-trapped, dealing damage if you open it!
Elsewhere, the popular Hildibrand Adventures storyline expands with two additional quests. Furthermore, new allied society missions for the Yok Huy have been integrated into FF14. These missions involve completing a main story objective, followed by up to three smaller daily tasks and side quests to progress the evolving narrative.
This comprehensive update brings a wealth of new playable content to FF14! And we’ve only just scratched the surface; the full patch notes reveal even more additions, including a stylish new hairstyle, exciting new housing items, and a host of balance changes that have all arrived in the game today. Get ready, adventurers: FF14 Update 7.35 and the Monster Hunter Wilds collaboration are officially live!
It’s truly fantastic to witness these two colossal franchises collaborating once again! Even more delightful is the knowledge that this partnership sprang from a casual chat over drinks between Square Enix and Capcom developers – a fun fact Yoshi-P shared with us at Gamescom earlier this year. For those eager to experience both sides of this incredible collaboration, don’t forget that some FF14-themed content is also now live in Monster Hunter Wilds.
