Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and Prince Andrew are mentioned in newly unsealed files compiled by the estate of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. These documents, released by Congressional Democrats, have surfaced new details regarding Epstein’s associates.
Among the revelations, Musk’s name appears in connection with an invitation to Epstein’s private island in December 2014. A separate flight manifest from May 2000 lists Prince Andrew as a passenger on a journey from New Jersey to Florida, alongside Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell was previously convicted of sex trafficking charges related to Epstein’s operations.
Both Musk and Prince Andrew have been approached for comment regarding these new disclosures. Prince Andrew has consistently maintained his innocence and denied any wrongdoing in past statements. Musk has previously stated that while he was invited to Epstein’s island, he declined the invitation.
The newly released documents are part of the third batch of records from Epstein’s estate, shared by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee. The files reportedly include phone logs, flight manifests, financial records, and Epstein’s daily schedule.
Other notable figures named in the released files include internet entrepreneur Peter Thiel, with an entry referencing a planned lunch in November 2017, and Steve Bannon, a former advisor to Donald Trump, with a planned breakfast noted for February 2019. It is important to note that the presence of a name in these documents does not imply knowledge of or involvement in Epstein’s alleged criminal activities.
Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. He had previously reached a plea deal in 2008 after facing accusations of molesting a minor in Palm Beach, Florida.
A spokesperson for the Democrats on the Oversight committee emphasized the significance of these documents, stating, “It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world. Every new document produced provides new information as we work to bring justice for the survivors and victims.”
