Don’t Miss Out! Iconic LEGO Star Wars Sets, Including Darth Vader’s Helmet and Droideka, Nearly Half Price!

Reading Time: 8 min

The LEGO Darth Vader Helmet has had an astonishing run since its launch in March 2021. This 834-piece display model, capturing the iconic Sith Lord from the Original Trilogy, has remarkably outlasted many newer LEGO Star Wars sets. Even now, it remains a consistent bestseller at major retailers, with Amazon reporting over 2,000 units sold just last month—surpassing many recently released kits. However, even the Dark Lord’s brick-built legacy can’t last forever. LEGO has announced that the Darth Vader Helmet is “retiring soon,” meaning it will likely vanish from shelves before the year’s end.

This makes it the perfect time to secure this collectible for your own display or as an unforgettable gift for a Star Wars enthusiast this holiday season. Both Amazon and Target are offering the Darth Vader Helmet for an incredible $44.79, a steep drop from its original $80 price. This deal is part of Target’s Circle Week, with Amazon competitively price-matching in anticipation of their Prime Big Deal Days. Remember to check for any available coupons on Amazon’s product page to ensure you get the maximum discount!

Amazon is also matching deals on several other Star Wars LEGO sets that are about to retire, including the Droideka Destroyer Droid for $36.39 (down from $65), Boarding the Tantive IV for $32.89 (was $55), The Onyx Cinder Spaceship for $98 (originally $140), and the Luke Skywalker X-Wing Mech for just $11.19 (from $16). You’ll find a comprehensive list of all soon-to-be-retired LEGO Star Wars sets on discount further down.

LEGO Star Wars Helmet Models

Expand your helmet collection by pairing the Darth Vader Helmet with other discounted LEGO Star Wars helmets, such as The Mandalorian and Captain Rex, which are also expected to retire soon. Walmart also features tempting LEGO Star Wars Helmet Bundle deals. For a Target exclusive, the AT-AT Driver Helmet is currently available for $49, a saving from its usual $70.

  • Darth Vader Helmet (834 pieces) — Now $44.79 (was $80) – Retiring soon!

  • Captain Rex Helmet (854 pieces) — Now $56 (was $70)
  • Kylo Ren Helmet (529 pieces) — Now $70 – Walmart Exclusive!
  • Jango Fett Helmet (616 pieces) — Now $65 (was $70)

Star Wars Helmet Bundle Deals:

  • Darth Vader Helmet + UCS AT-ST Walker (1,513 pieces) — Get both for $210 (originally $280)!
  • Darth Vader Helmet + Kylo Ren Helmet (529 pieces) — A duo for $99 (was $150)!
  • Kylo Ren Helmet + Command Shuttle (915 pieces) — Snag this pair for $98 (down from $140)!

The 834-piece Darth Vader Helmet model, measuring 8 x 5.5 x 5.5 inches, is crafted for experienced builders, featuring intricate techniques and a detailed exterior, complete with Vader’s life-support system and a display stand with a LEGO Star Wars logo nameplate. While the individual helmet deal is fantastic, Walmart offers bundles! Consider the UCS AT-ST Walker bundle for $210 – essentially getting the Vader Helmet for a steal! Or, grab both the Darth Vader and Kylo Ren Helmets for just $99.

The Target-exclusive AT-AT Driver Helmet, a 730-piece set inspired by The Empire Strikes Back, measures 7.5 x 5 x 5 inches when built. It’s part of Target’s Circle Week LEGO sale, available with a 30% discount.

The 529-piece Kylo Ren Helmet, inspired by Lord Vader’s grandson, is available in a Walmart bundle. Pair it with Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle (386 pieces) for $98, a significant saving from the original $140. Essentially, you’re getting each $70 set for just $49! This Walmart and LEGO Store exclusive, measuring 7 x 4.5 x 5 inches, has not seen individual discounts since its May Star Wars Day launch.

The Mandalorian Helmet, a 584-piece set launched in early 2022, is also expected to retire soon. This model beautifully recreates Mando’s iconic Beskar plate armor, measuring 7 x 4 x 4.5 inches on its display stand. Find it on sale for $56 (originally $70) at both Amazon and Walmart.

Surprisingly, the Captain Rex Helmet boasts the highest piece count among currently produced LEGO Star Wars helmets. This 854-piece replica flawlessly captures the unique 501st Legion Clone Commander’s armor from The Clone Wars, measuring 8 x 5 x 5 inches. It’s available at Amazon for $56 (was $70).

Released alongside the Kylo Ren Helmet for Star Wars Day, the 616-piece Jango Fett Helmet has seen modest discounts so far. This completed model, featuring an adjustable rangefinder antenna, measures 8.5 x 4.5 x 4 inches. Jango Fett has been a focus for LEGO this year, with his starship from Attack of the Clones joining the Ultimate Collector Series and a smaller playset version launching in August.

Though LEGO discontinued the Clone Commander Cody Helmet in February 2025, Amazon recently surprised fans by restocking this 766-piece set at its original $70 price. Clone Wars and Bad Batch enthusiasts should act fast, as this 8 x 5 x 5.5-inch model with a display stand won’t last long.

The 583-piece Droideka Destroyer Droid is another exciting Star Wars set nearing retirement, available for $36.39 (down from $65) at both Amazon and Target as part of Target’s Circle Week price-matching by Amazon. Don’t forget the popular Luke Skywalker X-Wing Mech, also retiring, now only $11.19 (was $16). Even two Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) Star Wars LEGO sets are being discontinued: Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing Starfighter and The Mandalorian’s colossal Razor Crest Starship, with the latter currently at a slight discount on Amazon.
