Dolly Parton, the beloved country music superstar, has regrettably postponed her eagerly anticipated Las Vegas residency. This marks her first extended run in the city in over thirty years, leaving fans to eagerly await her return to the stage for nearly another year.
The 79-year-old legend announced on Instagram Sunday evening that her six December concerts at Caesars Palace would be moved to September 2026. She openly shared that ‘health challenges’ necessitate ‘a few procedures’ before she can perform.
These highly anticipated performances were set to showcase seven decades of her iconic catalog, featuring classics like ‘9 to 5,’ ‘Jolene,’ and ‘I Will Always Love You.’ Tickets for the shows had completely sold out weeks ago, with some resale prices soaring into the thousands.
While Ms. Parton did not elaborate on the specific nature of her health concerns, her signature wit and optimistic spirit were clearly evident in her announcement.
‘It must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up,’ she quipped playfully on Instagram, adding a characteristic touch of humor, ‘although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!’
Parton, who recently experienced the loss of her husband of almost six decades, Carl Dean, in March at 82, affirmed she will continue her work on various projects from Nashville until she feels fully ‘show ready.’
‘And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,’ she reassured fans. ‘But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.’
Last year, Parton revealed plans for her biographical musical, ‘Hello, I’m Dolly’ — a project she’s been developing for about a decade — to debut on Broadway in 2026.
The impact of this postponement on the musical’s scheduled debut remains uncertain.
A representative for Ms. Parton was unavailable for immediate comment on Monday.
