Dolly Parton, the beloved country music superstar, has unfortunately had to postpone her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency. This means fans will need to wait another year to experience her legendary stage presence, marking her first extended run in the city in over three decades.
The 79-year-old icon announced on Instagram Sunday evening that her six December concerts at Caesars Palace would be moved to September 2026. She attributed this delay to ‘health challenges’ requiring ‘a few procedures.’
These shows were among the year’s most eagerly awaited events, promising a captivating journey through seven decades of her chart-topping hits, from ‘9 to 5’ to ‘Jolene’ and ‘I Will Always Love You.’ Tickets had vanished weeks ago, with resale prices soaring into the thousands.
While Parton kept the specifics of her health private, she reassured everyone that her signature wit was as sharp as ever.
She playfully quipped on Instagram, ‘It must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!’
Following the passing of her husband of almost six decades, Carl Dean, in March at age 82, Parton confirmed she’ll be focusing on her projects from Nashville until she’s ‘show ready’ once more.
She further emphasized her enduring commitment to her career, stating, ‘And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.’
Last year, Parton revealed plans for her biographical musical, ‘Hello, I’m Dolly,’ a project she’s nurtured for approximately a decade, to debut on Broadway in 2026.
As of Monday, a representative for Dolly Parton had not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the postponement.
