Fans eagerly awaiting Dolly Parton’s first extended Las Vegas residency in over three decades will have to hold on a bit longer. The country music superstar has announced a postponement, pushing back her highly anticipated performances by nearly a year.
The 79-year-old icon revealed in a statement shared on social media Sunday night that her six December concerts at Caesars Palace are now rescheduled for September 2026. She cited ‘health challenges’ necessitating ‘a few procedures’ as the reason for the delay.
These performances, initially hailed as one of the year’s most anticipated engagements, promised to showcase seven decades of timeless hits, from “9 to 5” to “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You.” Tickets for the December dates had quickly sold out, often fetching thousands on resale markets.
While Parton chose not to elaborate on the specifics of her health, she reassured fans with her signature wit, proving her spirits remain high.
‘It must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up,’ she quipped online, adding, ‘although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!’
Parton, who recently experienced the loss of her husband of almost six decades, Carl Dean, in March at 82, affirmed her commitment to her ongoing projects from Nashville. She stated she would resume live performances once she is ‘show ready’ and fully recovered.
She further assured her fanbase, ‘And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.’
Looking ahead, Parton previously announced that her long-anticipated biographical musical, ‘Hello, I’m Dolly,’ a project she’s nurtured for a decade, is set to debut on Broadway in 2026.
A representative for Ms. Parton was unavailable for immediate comment on Monday.
