Fortnite’s latest Fortnitemares event is now live, bringing a thrilling mix of horror legends like Jason and Ghostface, alongside the iconic Scooby Gang. However, perhaps the most surprising addition to this year’s lineup is pop superstar Doja Cat. Her crossover appearance, unfortunately, got off to a rather cringeworthy start.
Doja Cat was scheduled to temporarily manage Fortnite’s social media account on Wednesday, just before the official Fortnitemares announcement. Things quickly took an unexpected turn when a message about ‘rose toys’ appeared on the account, which many people interpreted as a reference to adult products. Doja Cat swiftly responded from her personal account, clarifying, “I told them not to, man. That’s not even me. I said this yesterday and then said ‘don’t post that’ :/.”
The controversial post was quickly removed from the platform. However, as is often the case with online content, it had already circulated widely, proving that some things, once shared, are permanently etched into internet history.
The incident aside, Fortnitemares remains a highly anticipated and beloved event within the Fortnite community. It typically introduces a variety of new iconic character skins—with past examples including Billy The Puppet and Leatherface in 2024—alongside engaging, limited-time game modes that offer valuable rewards and experience points. Players can also look forward to a spooky transformation of the game’s map, with Halloween-themed decorations adorning many well-known locations.
This 2025 edition of Fortnitemares is currently underway and will continue through the beginning of November, offering plenty of time for players to enjoy the seasonal festivities.
