Get ready for “Dispatch,” a brand-new workplace superhero comedy adventure game created by a team of talented former Telltale developers. This exciting new title is set to launch on PC and PlayStation 5 starting October 22nd.
The game will roll out episodically over four weeks, with two new episodes arriving each week from the launch date. Players can purchase the full season for $30, or opt for the deluxe edition at $40, which includes a digital artbook and four exclusive digital comics.
Dispatch boasts a stellar voice cast, featuring acclaimed actors Aaron Paul, Jeffrey Wright, and Laura Bailey. In this narrative adventure, players won’t just be making dialogue choices; they’ll also strategically manage a unique roster of superheroes. As calls for help flood in, you, playing as Robert Robertson (voiced by Aaron Paul), must decide which hero to send to each crisis. Success hinges on your ability to cultivate relationships with your team and ensure they perform at their best. The game is developed by AdHoc, a fresh studio founded by several veterans from the original Telltale Games.
Nick Herman, co-founder of AdHoc and creative director for Dispatch, shared his thoughts on the release strategy: “We believe the release format is a crucial part of the player experience. An episodic approach makes the story easy to jump into, simple to follow, and great for sharing with friends. We’re aiming for ‘appointment gaming’ with Dispatch, mirroring the weekly rhythm of a TV show, rather than making players wait months between new installments.”
Players eager to experience the game can add it to their wishlist or try out the playable demo, currently available. The game has been described as playing like an evolved version of what Telltale might have created, had the studio continued its journey and updated its game engine.
