The much-anticipated sequel to Jr NTR’s blockbuster film ‘Devara,’ titled ‘Devara 2,’ has been officially announced by Yuvasudha Arts. This exciting news comes precisely one year after the initial release of ‘Devara: Part 1’. The production house shared the announcement via their X (formerly Twitter) account, accompanied by a compelling poster featuring Jr NTR in his iconic character look.
The poster, which showcases Jr NTR as Devara, has generated considerable buzz. The caption accompanying the post read: “It’s been one year since HAVOC struck the shores, trembling every coast… and the name the world remembers is #DEVARA. Be it the FEAR it unleashed or the LOVE it earned, the streets will never forget. Now gear up for #Devara2. Man of Masses. @tarak9999. A #KoratalaSiva Film. An @anirudhofficial MUSICAL 🎶 @NTRArtsOfficial @YuvasudhaArts @DevaraMovie.”
Fans can rejoice as director Koratala Siva will be returning to helm the sequel, with the acclaimed Anirudh Ravichander once again composing the music. ‘Devara: Part 1,’ which hit theatres on September 27th last year, received a mixed response from critics and audiences alike. However, the film achieved significant commercial success, grossing over ₹400 crore worldwide. The first installment concluded on a cliffhanger, similar to the ‘Baahubali’ series, leaving a key question unanswered and setting the stage for the sequel.
Addressing the rumors about the film being shelved, Jr NTR had previously shared his thoughts on the sequel in an interview. He mentioned his desire for director Koratala Siva to take a much-needed break before commencing work on ‘Devara 2’, stating, “I just want my director, Koratala Siva, to take a month off. I told him, you know what? This is my gift. I said I am going to send you away from Hyderabad. Go for a month and a half, just go, have fun, and don’t think about anything. Come back, and then we will start writing for it again. Let’s just refresh, re-energise, rethink, recalculate, recalibrate, and then we will write Devara 2.”
