In her announcement post, Deepika was pictured alongside Union Minister J.P. Nadda and Punya Salila Srivastava. She wrote, “On World Mental Health Day, I am deeply honoured to be appointed as the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’s first-ever Mental Health Ambassador.” She further elaborated on the nation’s progress in prioritizing mental health under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, highlighting her foundation’s work and her commitment to fostering a mentally healthy India.
Deepika, a vocal advocate for mental health awareness, founded The Live Laugh Love Foundation in 2015. This initiative stemmed from her personal experience with depression, aiming to destigmatize mental health issues and encourage open conversations. She expressed her eagerness to collaborate with Shri J.P. Nadda and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare to further strengthen the country’s mental health initiatives.
