A recent attack by Sudanese paramilitaries on a shelter for displaced families in the besieged city of el-Fasher, Darfur, has led to a horrific loss of life. According to the Sudan Doctors’ Network, at least 53 people were killed, a grim toll that includes 14 children and 15 women.
The shelling, which occurred on Saturday, October 11, 2025, also left 21 individuals wounded, among them five children and seven women. The targeted facility, known as the al-Arqam Home, provided sanctuary to vulnerable families within el-Fasher, the provincial capital of North Darfur. This critical shelter is situated on the campus of Omdurman Islamic University, further emphasizing the indiscriminate nature of the attack carried out by the Rapid Support Forces.
