Exciting news for Marvel enthusiasts! The highly anticipated second season of Daredevil: Born Again is officially returning to Disney+ early next year, and we finally have a premiere date.
Mark your calendars! Disney has confirmed that the much-awaited second season starring the iconic horned hero will debut on March 4, 2026. This announcement comes fresh off the heels of a thrilling teaser trailer shown at New York Comic-Con.
Notably, this upcoming second season is the first to be fully developed following the series’ mid-production creative overhaul. The aim was to ensure it acts as a seamless continuation of the character’s critically acclaimed Netflix run, which fans adored.
Fans can also look forward to some exciting familiar faces! Krysten Ritter is making a much-anticipated return as Jessica Jones, while Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page will have a more significant role. Even Elden Henson’s Foggy, who only had a brief appearance in Season 1, is set to make a proper comeback.
Interestingly, the New York Comic-Con teaser trailer, intended to remain exclusive, found its way online when Krysten Ritter herself accidentally posted and then deleted the footage. Glimpses from the trailer showed Matt Murdock and Karen Page reuniting, only for their renewed connection to be immediately threatened. The formidable Vincent D’Onofrio is confirmed to return as Wilson Fisk, and Wilson Bethel will reprise his role as the deadly Bullseye.
Demonstrating immense confidence in the series, Marvel recently gave an exclusive confirmation that Daredevil: Born Again has already been greenlit for a third season, slated for 2027. Moreover, writer Jesse Wigutow announced his return to the writers’ room to craft even more episodes, highlighting the show’s promising future.
Speaking cautiously about the upcoming second season, writer Jesse Wigutow teased, “It’s a very big, muscular season that revolves around Fisk in office as mayor. There’s a lot of political intrigue and palace intrigue.” While keeping details under wraps, his comments hint at a powerful narrative.
He elaborated on the core of the season: “What I think is really awesome about the season is that ultimately… with all these moving pieces and this big kind of canvas of New York City, at the end of the day, it’s about these two characters that you care about most, almost like two kids face-to-face in a playground. That’s the idea. They hate each other, but they need each other. And how do they get through that? That’s ultimately what it all comes down to. And I think we did a really fun job of delivering that.”
Wigutow also disclosed a previously planned, but now discarded, special episode focusing on Punisher and Echo. This episode was conceptualized before Marvel decided to significantly retool the series’ direction.
