During the recent Call of Duty: Next event, Activision delivered a flurry of major announcements regarding the beloved FPS franchise, with a strong focus on the future of Call of Duty: Warzone.
A highlight includes the integration of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 into Warzone starting with Season 1. This integration will introduce a brand-new Resurgence map named Haven’s Hollow, which is designed to be more compact than Fortune’s Keep but offers a larger play area than Rebirth Island.

Haven’s Hollow is set in Liberty Falls, a town previously featured in Black Ops 6 Zombies lore, but predating the zombie apocalypse. This means players can expect a vibrant color palette and a variety of distinct points of interest, rather than a decaying, zombie-infested landscape. High Moon Studios spearheaded the design and development of this new battleground.
In other significant Warzone news from Call of Duty: Next, the iconic original Warzone map, Verdansk, will continue to serve as the game’s primary battleground. However, it’s not precisely as players remember it, as two new Points of Interest (POIs) have been integrated: the Factory and the Signal Station.
A tweet from ModernWarzone offered a sneak peek at new Points of Interest (POIs) being introduced to Verdansk with Black Ops 7. These additions include a Signal Station and the highly anticipated return of the Factory, located conveniently next to Superstore. (Posted September 30, 2025)
Originally launched with Warzone in 2020, Verdansk was a fan-favorite until its removal in 2021. Its recent return earlier this year sparked a significant boost in player engagement, making Activision’s decision to keep it as the main map a clear win for the community.
CharlieIntel also confirmed several upcoming Warzone gameplay adjustments: weapon customization will be limited to five attachments, Wildcards are removed, and Overkill will be available by default. Tactical Sprint is no longer a base ability, instead becoming exclusive to the Sprinter perk. The Combat Roll from Black Ops 7 will be incorporated into Warzone via the Mountaineer perk, and players can expect a greater abundance of ground loot, including carefully curated weapon builds.
