The early access beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 just launched, and developer Treyarch has already announced a significant update arriving this weekend. This eagerly anticipated patch will address key player concerns, particularly regarding the frustratingly slow progression for weapon XP and overclock unlocks.
Treyarch confirmed these changes are a direct response to player feedback. Many beta participants found the progression system to be excessively slow, demanding extensive gameplay to earn weapon attachments and the game’s new overclock upgrades. Players can expect a much more rewarding leveling experience once the update is live.
Beyond progression, the update will also fine-tune the automatic doors featured in multiplayer maps. Unlike previous Call of Duty titles, Black Ops 7’s doors open automatically when players approach or shoot them. While specific details aren’t yet available, the adjustments could involve tweaks to sensor sensitivity or the speed at which these doors operate.
Other confirmed improvements include adjustments to the game’s time-to-kill (TTK), various weapon bug fixes, and general stability enhancements. For a more comprehensive look, recent patch notes also outlined a new Zombies training course and addressed other known issues within the beta.
Meanwhile, the Black Ops 7 beta has unfortunately seen an influx of cheaters, but Activision is taking swift action to remove them from the game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to officially launch on November 14 across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
