Gearbox has delivered a significant new update for Borderlands 4 on PC, specifically targeting and resolving some of the game’s most pressing issues, particularly concerning its stability as a looter-shooter.
According to the development team’s official announcement, this patch is designed to “improve stability on PC, smooth out progression, and update the Gilded Glory Pack loot and rewards for a more seamless experience.” Players can expect fixes for crashes related to animations, audio, collision, and various GPU-specific problems.

The update also fine-tunes the Gilded Glory Pack’s loot and rewards. Previously, gear from this pack would appear in standard chests, but that has now been corrected. Additionally, issues with the Reward Center when claiming Gilded Glory Pack items have been resolved. The Gilded Glory Pack, a pre-order bonus, includes four legendary weapons and a unique cosmetic headpiece.
This patch arrives after Borderlands 4, despite a successful debut on Steam following its September 12 launch, faced a wave of criticism regarding the numerous technical issues present in its PC version. While the studio had previously stated that addressing these complaints was a “top priority,” Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford also shared some strong opinions directed at those voicing complaints.
Borderlands 4 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled for release on October 3. Below are the comprehensive patch notes for this latest update:
