The long-standing debate surrounding “insiders vs. outsiders” in Bollywood continues to spark discussions within the film fraternity. Numerous actors and music composers have shared their struggles, recounting how newcomers or those from outside the established circles often encounter resistance and sabotage if they achieve significant success or emerge as potential threats to industry stalwarts. Adding to this narrative, actor and former model Muzammil Ibrahim has recently shared his perspective on these industry practices.
Muzammil Ibrahim Alleges Bollywood Tried to Sabotage Kartik Aaryan and Sushant Singh Rajput
In a candid conversation with Filmygyan, Muzammil Ibrahim made a striking assertion that the industry actively works to undermine outsiders who demonstrate superior talent compared to established A-listers. He emphasized that this goes beyond mere sidelining, describing it as a calculated effort to diminish the prospects of emerging talents.
When questioned about whether Bollywood intentionally suppresses actors who outperform their more established counterparts, Ibrahim stated, “Oh, they sabotage you. If you are too good or good enough, there’s a narrative carried out against you and every actor who’s been good enough has faced it. I’ve seen Kartik Aaryan go through it, Sushant Singh Rajput go through it. But it’s only those guys who have the potential to become A-listers—big stars—not just those who are seen as minor threats. Those who have the real potential, they face this.”
Ibrahim’s candid remarks resonate with previous allegations made by music composer Amaal Mallik. Mallik had also claimed that prominent Bollywood producers allegedly attempted to sideline Kartik Aaryan, mirroring the alleged treatment faced by Sushant Singh Rajput.
