Battlefield 6 has roared out of the gate, setting new franchise records with over 7 million copies sold. But even with this monumental success, the game isn’t without its glaring flaws – quite literally. Many players are up in arms over the intense, often blinding, in-game sun and the overly bright lighting that assaults their eyes when moving from cover to open areas.
Fortunately, hope is on the horizon. Florian Le BiHan, Battlefield 6’s principal game designer, recently confirmed that the development team at DICE is well aware of these visibility complaints. He assured players that they are “working on a set of improvements in this area” and will share more details soon, though a specific release timeframe wasn’t provided. This acknowledgment offers a much-needed assurance that players won’t be left squinting indefinitely.
In the interim, some dedicated (and desperate) fans have resorted to creative, albeit sometimes comical, methods to combat the blinding light. One player humorously shared their “fix” – which, sadly, involved little more than a futile attempt to block the screen, confirming it offered no real solution to the in-game problem.
However, a more practical workaround has emerged for PC users. By activating HDR on their monitors and enabling HDR 1000 in Windows settings, some players have reported a complete elimination of the sun’s harsh glare. This suggests a potential temporary solution for those on compatible hardware.
Beyond the lighting woes, Battlefield Studios is also busy with other significant changes. They’ve announced plans to remove “XP farms” that some players were exploiting, while simultaneously boosting experience points for those who participate in regular matches and daily challenges. This move aims to foster more engaging and fair competition within the game. The highly anticipated Battlefield 6 Season 1 is scheduled to launch on October 28. The game recently celebrated a massive milestone, reaching a peak of over 747,000 concurrent players. However, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 slated for release on November 14, Battlefield 6 might soon face a substantial dip in its player base as gamers flock to the rival title.
