Growing up in the spotlight of the Kapoor family, siblings Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Ranbir Kapoor have always been each other’s staunchest supporters. Even after Riddhima’s marriage to Delhi-based entrepreneur Bharat Sahni, her bond with her brother remained strong, weathering distance and time.
This Bhai Dooj, Riddhima shared intimate details about her relationship with Ranbir, revealing that despite their celebrity status, their sibling dynamic was remarkably ordinary.
“Ranbir and I have always had a very normal sibling relationship, even though we grew up in a famous family,” Riddhima shared in a candid conversation. “At home, we were just like any other brother and sister – teasing each other, fighting, and sometimes covering for each other. Of course, there were times we’d keep little secrets from our parents, but nothing major. We’ve always been fiercely protective of each other, and that has never changed.”
Riddhima, who is set to make her Bollywood debut alongside Kapil Sharma, fondly recalled childhood squabbles over the TV remote, laughing it off as “classic sibling stuff.”
The siblings, who lost their father, the legendary superstar Rishi Kapoor, in 2020, found their bond strengthened by the shared grief. Riddhima explained, “Losing Papa brought us even closer. Our bond has always been strong, but now it’s deeper.”
Describing Ranbir as her “biggest cheerleader,” Riddhima cherishes the honest advice he gives her.
When asked about their similarities and differences, Riddhima noted, “We’re both super family-oriented and value our relationships a lot. But personality-wise, Ranbir is definitely the calmer one – I’m way more impatient!”
Despite being in Delhi this year and unable to celebrate Bhai Dooj with Ranbir in person, Riddhima plans to ensure they connect via video call to exchange wishes.
