Battlefield 6 Performance with Nvidia DLSS 4: A Detailed Analysis

October 10, 2025
in Gaming
Reading Time: 4 min

We put Nvidia’s latest DLSS 4 technology through its paces in Battlefield 6, exploring its effects on both the game’s immersive campaign and its competitive multiplayer. Our objective was to determine how effectively Super Resolution and multi-frame generation could enhance performance. Utilizing an RTX 5070 graphics card and a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution display, our results varied significantly based on the graphical demands of each scenario.

Our test rig comfortably exceeded the recommended system requirements for Battlefield 6, designed to achieve 60 frames per second at 1440p with high graphics settings. Specifically, our setup included an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, an Intel Core i7 11700F processor, and 32GB of 3,200MHz DDR4 RAM configured in dual-channel.

For our multiplayer evaluation in Battlefield 6, we conducted multiple full-match tests within the popular Conquest game mode. Our methodology involved three distinct scenarios on the high graphics preset: first, without any DLSS features enabled; second, with DLSS Super Resolution set to ‘Quality’; and finally, with both DLSS ‘Quality’ and 4x multi-frame generation activated. Each configuration was run three times to ensure data consistency and to easily spot any unusual performance fluctuations. Below are the summarized results from our comprehensive testing:

Average frame rate 1% low System latency
Native 77fps 49fps 31ms
DLSS Quality 95fps 52fps 27ms
DLSS Quality + Multi Frame Gen 4x 330fps 137fps 40ms

While engaging multi-frame generation did show a slight increase in system latency, this difference was imperceptible during actual gameplay. The visual fluidity remained exceptionally smooth, making the trade-off negligible. Considering the monumental boosts to both average frame rates and 1% lows, we highly recommend utilizing both DLSS Super Resolution and multi-frame generation for Battlefield 6’s multiplayer experience, provided your hardware supports it.

Switching our focus to the campaign, we identified an extremely demanding, repeatable test segment early in the game’s first mission. This particular section, a prolonged vehicle combat sequence, is packed with intense action: helicopter crashes, explosive detonations, and extensive environmental destruction. This scenario represents a ‘worst-case’ benchmark for GPU performance, far exceeding the typical demands of a multiplayer match.

The data in the table below illustrates that while activating DLSS in ‘Quality’ mode offers a modest performance improvement, enabling multi-frame generation significantly increases system latency, averaging an impactful 84ms. This becomes a crucial factor when playing the campaign.

Average Frame Rate 1% Lows System Latency
Native 88fps 45fps 32ms
DLSS Quality 92fps 48fps 28ms
DLSS Quality + Multi Frame Gen 4x 143fps 134fps 84ms

This elevated latency was distinctly perceptible during gameplay, manifesting as a noticeable lag between a mouse click and the corresponding in-game gun fire. Such a delay, more than double that observed in multiplayer, highlights the current limitations of this technology in graphically intensive single-player scenarios. Intriguingly, even reducing the graphics preset to ‘Medium’ yielded only negligible performance improvements in this particular campaign segment.

While future updates might address performance in these highly demanding campaign sections, for the time being, Nvidia’s multi-frame generation technology, despite boosting frame rates, regrettably detracts from the experience due to the significant latency it introduces. In graphically intense campaign moments, it currently hinders more than it helps.

If you’re considering experiencing Nvidia DLSS 4 and are contemplating a graphics card upgrade, we recommend consulting our detailed reviews of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080. Additionally, our comprehensive guide to the best graphics cards can help you navigate your options and find the perfect GPU for your gaming needs.

Are you planning to immerse yourself in the Battlefield 6 campaign, or will your focus be solely on its thrilling multiplayer? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
