Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana, currently celebrating the success of his latest film Thamma, recently opened up about his early days and the surprising reactions he received regarding his acting ambitions. In a chat with Pinkvilla, Ayushmann recounted a conversation with his wife, Tahira Kashyap, during their college days, where she expressed disbelief in his dream of becoming an actor.
He humorously recalled Tahira’s reaction when he shared his aspirations: “She started laughing and crying at the same time, thinking, ‘How can you become an actor? Look at your face?’ I was a nerd; no one would have predicted that I would become an actor just by looking at my face. Even she didn’t believe in me. I lived on a lot of self-belief.”
Ayushmann also shared an interesting condition set by his father: to pursue arts and theatre, he had to be a topper in college. This motivated him to excel academically for three years, a testament to his dedication to his craft. Inspired by his idol Shah Rukh Khan, Ayushmann pursued Mass Communication, eventually leading him to Mumbai and a successful acting career.
On the professional front, Ayushmann was last seen in Thamma, which has garnered significant box office success. He is now gearing up for his upcoming film, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, slated for a March 2026 release.
