Actor Amol Parashar, known for his roles in ‘Tripling’ and ‘Sardar Udham’, recently immersed himself in the festive atmosphere of Old Delhi’s Shri Dharmic Ram Leela during Dussehra. The Delhi-born actor, a self-proclaimed foodie, couldn’t resist the allure of the vibrant street food stalls at the Red Fort grounds. “Delhi is known for its street food, and for the longest time, it’s the chaat of this city that has always got my mouth watering,” Parashar shared, confessing his love for spicy delicacies. He playfully added, “I might not have a sweet tooth, but I definitely have a chaat tooth! Papdi chaat and golgappas are forever my favorites because I can really amp up the spice level.” The actor enjoys chaat that makes him sweat, finding joy in its spiciness.
Parashar also reminisced about his childhood, recalling fond memories of visiting his ‘naani ka ghar’ in Chandni Chowk and attending the Ramlila. He described the Ramlila back then as a grand spectacle with large crowds and palpable excitement, a feeling that, despite the evolving scale of productions, remains the same today. He also fondly remembered participating in a local colony’s Ramlila as a child, highlighting the fun and spontaneity of such community events. Reflecting on the tradition, Parashar noted the epic’s embedded lessons of morality and justice, recognizing Ramlila as an effective way to spread these values when mass communication was limited.
