Amazon’s Luna, the cloud gaming service now entering its third year, has established itself as a valuable perk for Prime members, offering a seamless way to stream games on PCs and TVs without extra cost. The company recently unveiled its ambitious plans to refresh the Luna experience, promising a suite of new social functionalities and an expanded library of games slated for release later this year.
A standout addition in the Luna overhaul is a feature called GameNight. This new offering will comprise a selection of multiplayer-centric games that players can control directly using their smartphones. The collection is set to include modern adaptations of beloved board games like Taboo and Clue, popular party favorites such as Exploding Kittens, and innovative new titles like ‘Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg.’ In this unique game, players will need to craft compelling narratives and skillfully deflect blame onto others to win favor with Judge Snoop Dogg.
Beyond social features, the overall game catalog for Luna is also receiving a significant boost. Upcoming titles like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and Dave the Diver are among the exciting additions announced. Furthermore, Luna Premium subscribers will unlock access to an even broader array of games, including fan favorites such as Lego DC Super-Villains, Team Sonic Racing, and Batman: Arkham Knight.
Amazon Luna officially launched in March 2022, building upon a trial period that commenced in October 2020. The service provides access across various devices, including tablets, smartphones, PCs, and smart TVs. Players have the flexibility to use any Bluetooth-enabled controller for their streaming sessions, though Amazon also offers a dedicated Luna controller, which was introduced shortly before the service’s initial soft launch.
