Pokémon Go’s “Tales of Transformation” season continues into October with a packed calendar of events over the next few weeks. Expect new Spotlight Hours and challenging raid bosses, alongside a series of autumn-themed activities like the Harvest Festival, which will introduce two new evolved forms of Applin.
Trainers can also look forward to an electrifying Mega Rayquaza Raid Day and a special event celebrating the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A. And, of course, October wouldn’t be complete without the annual Halloween event, which this year will be split into two parts, bringing new ghost and costumed Pokémon to catch!

October Raid Schedule
This month, Pokémon Go is shaking up its raid rotation with a fresh lineup of legendary and Mega Pokémon to battle. Various forms of Deoxys and Genesect are making a return to five-star raids, while several Mega-Evolved Pokémon will headline Mega raids. Keep an eye out for seasonal Dynamax Pokémon like Gastly and Woobat appearing in Max Battles throughout the month.

October Spotlight Hours

Pokémon Go’s popular weekly Spotlight Hour events continue this October, each featuring a different Pokémon and special bonuses.
Every Tuesday evening, from 6-7 PM local time, a specific Pokémon species will appear much more frequently in the wild. Plus, you’ll earn an exciting extra bonus for participating, such as double Stardust or XP when catching Pokémon.

Steel Skyline Event

Kick off October with the Steel Skyline event, running until October 7! As the name suggests, expect to see more Steel-type and city-dwelling Pokémon like Alolan Diglett, Galarian Meowth, Skarmory, Trubbish, and Klink in the wild. You’ll also get a chance to encounter Dynamax Duraludon, the Steel/Dragon Pokémon, in four-star Max Battles.
Beyond featured Pokémon, Global Challenges will be active, unlocking various rewards as players collaborate to complete missions. Look out for free event-themed Field and Timed Research tasks, plus an optional paid Timed Research ticket for even more challenges and rewards.

Mega Metagross Raid Day

Mega Metagross makes its exciting Pokémon Go debut during a special Mega Raid Day event on October 4!
This powerful Mega-Evolved Pokémon will appear as a Mega raid boss in gyms from 2-5 PM local time. Every Metagross you encounter will know the Ghost-type Fast Attack Shadow Claw, and you’ll have an increased chance of finding a shiny one if you successfully conquer the raid.
Several bonuses will also be active. The Remote Raid Pass limit will be temporarily boosted to 20, allowing you to join more battles from afar. Additionally, you can receive up to five extra free Raid Passes by spinning the Photo Disc at gyms.

Harvest Festival

Celebrate the arrival of autumn with Pokémon Go’s Harvest Festival event, running from October 10-16!
During the festivities, two exciting new Pokémon, Dipplin and Hydrapple, will make their in-game debut. You’ll also be able to gather a fresh item: Syrupy Apples, which might appear at PokéStops with an active Mossy Lure Module. Other fall-themed Pokémon like Miltank, Combee, and Smoliv will show up more often. Plus, some fantastic bonuses will be active! You’ll earn double candy when catching Pokémon with Pinap or Silver Pinap Berries, and your chances of encountering shiny Pumpkaboo and shiny Smoliv will be boosted.

Solosis Community Day

This October, the Community Day spotlight shines on the Psychic-type Pokémon Solosis on October 12!
From 2-5 PM local time, Solosis will appear much more frequently in the wild, offering a prime opportunity to catch plenty and stock up on Solosis candy. With the increased spawn rate, your chances of encountering a shiny Solosis are also significantly higher.
As the featured Pokémon, Solosis can learn an exclusive attack. If you evolve one into Reuniclus by 9 PM local time, it will automatically learn the Fairy-type Fast Attack Charm.
The event also brings several in-game bonuses. You’ll earn triple Stardust and double candy for catching Pokémon, and players level 31 and above will have twice the chance to receive Candy XL. Additionally, any Incense you activate will last for three hours, and Lure Modules for one hour.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Celebration Event

Pokémon Go is celebrating the upcoming launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A with a special crossover event from October 16-20.
During this period, Mega Raids will appear more frequently at gyms, giving you even more opportunities to expand your Pokédex and earn valuable Mega Energy. You can also complete free Timed Research tasks to earn various rewards, including chances to catch the three starter Pokémon from Z-A: Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile. Finally, the Style Shop will feature new Z-A-inspired outfits for your avatar.

Mega Raid Day

Prepare for the legendary Mega Rayquaza, descending for a special Mega Raid Day event on October 18!
From 2-5 PM local time, Mega Rayquaza will dominate gyms as a Mega raid boss. Successfully clear the raid, and you’ll have increased chances of encountering a shiny Rayquaza afterward.
Additionally, free Timed Research tasks will be available during the event. Completing these tasks will reward you with a Meteorite, an essential item needed to teach Rayquaza the powerful Charged Attack Dragon Ascent.

Halloween 2025 Part I

Pokémon Go wraps up the month with its annual Halloween event! Following previous years, the spooky festivities are split into two parts, with the first running from October 21-27.
During this part, two new Ghost-type Pokémon, Poltchageist and its evolution Sinistcha, will make their debut. Plus, shiny Sinistea will be appearing for the very first time in Pokémon Go!
Expect a greater frequency of Ghost and Dark-type Pokémon like Greavard, Zorua, and Hisuian Zorua in the wild and in raid battles. You’ll also have opportunities to encounter themed Pokémon by completing Field Research tasks.

Halloween 2025 Part II

The second part of Pokémon Go’s Halloween 2025 celebration will run from October 27-November 2.
During this segment, a variety of costume-wearing Pokémon will appear in the wild and as raid bosses. In addition to familiar costumed Pokémon from past years, you’ll have a chance to encounter brand-new spooky Pokémon, such as Teddiursa wearing a witch hat and Noibat sporting a headband.
Even more event-themed Field Research tasks will be available. Complete these to earn different rewards, including extra encounters with featured Pokémon and Mega Energy for monsters like Houndoom, Gengar, and Sableye.
Several bonuses will also be active. Your odds of encountering shiny costumed Pokémon through raids will be boosted throughout this entire event. Plus, on October 31st, any costumed Pokémon you catch with a Nice Throw or better will have a chance to give you Rare Candy or Rare Candy XL!
