Fans of the ‘Tales of Wedding Rings’ anime are in for a delightful surprise! The official YouTube channel for Sizuk, the innovative music project led by composer Shunryu, has unveiled a brand-new music video. This special release features none other than Akari Kito, the talented voice actress who brings the anime’s main heroine, Hime, to life, singing a captivating cover of the first season’s opening theme song, ‘Lover’s Eye.’
While the original rendition of ‘Lover’s Eye’ showcased the powerful vocals of AYAME from the rock band AliA, Akari Kito’s version offers a fresh, character-infused take. The ‘Lover’s Eye feat. Hime (CV: Akari Kito)’ music video is now available, and the track itself made its digital debut on September 24.
Akari Kito graciously shared her thoughts on tackling the song from Hime’s perspective on Sizuk’s official X (formerly Twitter) account:
“As Hime, I had the privilege of covering Sizuk-san’s ‘Lover’s Eye.’ Singing such a cool yet challenging song as Hime presented its unique set of difficulties. Personally, I was incredibly impressed and quite fond of the strikingly illustrated Hime gracing the digital jacket for ‘Lover’s Eye.’ So, I poured that imagery into my performance, imagining Hime from the jacket illustration! I believe it offers a distinctly different interpretation compared to Sizuk-san’s dignified, grand, and cool original vocal version. I truly hope everyone enjoys it alongside the anime!”
The digital jacket, featuring the aforementioned striking illustration of Hime, is also available, perfectly complementing Kito’s passionate performance.
