Acknowledging his gratitude for his fans’ unwavering support, Ajith stressed the importance of monitoring the “love and attention” they receive. He described instances where fans, in their enthusiasm, engage in excessive celebrations like setting off firecrackers and damaging screens, expressing a desire for these practices to cease.
Addressing the Karur Stampede
Ajith clarified his intention was not to place blame on any one person. “That individual (Vijay) alone is not responsible; we are all responsible for it, and I think even the media has a part to play in this,” he stated. He elaborated on the societal tendency to prioritize large gatherings as a measure of popularity, advocating for a shift away from this mindset.
Ajith pointed out that fans have healthier ways to express their admiration, drawing a parallel to cricket matches where such extreme behaviors are absent. He questioned why these incidents are predominantly linked to the film industry, noting that it reflects poorly on the entire sector globally. He concluded by emphasizing that while fans’ love is cherished, there are appropriate channels for expressing it.
