Fans of the Love Live! franchise are facing a bittersweet moment as it has been announced that Ai Furihata, the talented voice behind Ruby Kurosawa in Love Live! Sunshine!!, will be graduating from the three-member crossover unit, AiScReam. Her final appearance with the unit is scheduled after the ‘LoveLive! Series Official Card Game presents AiScReam no Torokeru Time♡♡♡’ podcast streams on March 27, 2026.
The Love Live! franchise extended its heartfelt gratitude to Furihata-san for her extensive dedication to AiScReam’s activities. The unit, initially planned for a limited run, far exceeded expectations, having started during the broadcast of the podcast’s predecessor program, ‘LoveLive! Series All Night Nippon GOLD.’
In her own statement, Furihata-san expressed her feelings about Ruby Kurosawa’s upcoming graduation from the cross-franchise unit this March. She reflected on the previous year, noting how the song ‘AI♡SCREAM!’ brought joy to many and served as an introduction for people to discover Ruby and the broader Love Live! series. Despite AiScReam being a limited-time project, she is filled with immense gratitude for the myriad experiences gained through this journey, acknowledging that life often holds unexpected turns. She hopes that ‘Spoons,’ the affectionate name for their fans, will continue to support AiScReam going forward.
Looking to the future, the unit will welcome new talent. Miu Miyake, who voices Ceras Yanagida Lilienfeld in Hasunosora Girls’ High School Idol Club, and Rina Endo, known as Mai Azabu in Ikizulive! Love Live! Bluebird, are set to join AiScReam. Plans are also underway for a brand-new track from the now four-member unit, promising exciting developments for fans.
AiScReam originally emerged as a limited-time unit from the radio program ‘Love Live! Series no All Night Nippon Gold.’ It was initially formed by Ai Furihata, alongside Aguri Onishi, the voice of Ayumu Uehara in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, and Wakana Okuma, who portrays Shiki Wakana in Love Live! Superstar!!. Their debut song, ‘AI♡SCREAM!’, captivated audiences upon its release in January 2025. The track quickly achieved significant success, ranking No. 7 on Oricon’s weekly single charts. Furthermore, its live-action music video has garnered impressive viewership, reaching 6.29 million views within just five months.
