The highly anticipated Skoda Octavia RS is making a grand return to India, with Skoda Auto India revealing the first official teaser of this iconic performance sedan. This special edition will be extremely exclusive, with only 100 units allocated for the Indian market, all meticulously crafted in the Czech Republic.
Mark your calendars: Bookings for the Octavia RS will commence online starting October 6th, with the official price announcement scheduled for October 17th. Deliveries for this coveted vehicle are expected to begin from November 6th.
Under the hood, the new Octavia RS packs a punch with a potent 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, delivering an impressive 265 hp and 370 Nm of torque. Mated to a responsive seven-speed DSG gearbox, this car promises an exhilarating driving experience. Skoda claims a thrilling 0–100 kmph sprint time of just 6.6 seconds, and it can reach a top speed of 250 kmph. To further enhance its performance pedigree, the sedan sits 15 mm lower than the standard Octavia and features a specially tuned sports exhaust system.
Visually, the teasers highlight stunning LED Matrix headlights with integrated DRLs, sharper body lines, and stylish 18-inch alloy wheels that contribute to its aggressive stance. Inside, the sporty theme continues with bolstered sports seats, a sophisticated 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and other premium enhancements that set it apart from the regular Octavia model.
The ‘RS’ badge, short for ‘Rally Sport,’ has always symbolized a perfect fusion of motorsport-inspired engineering with practical everyday usability. The Octavia RS first captivated Indian buyers in 2004 as one of the country’s pioneering turbo-petrol passenger cars. Its previous iteration, however, was discontinued in April 2023 following the implementation of BS6 Phase-2 emission norms.
