The OnePlus 15 features a camera design similar to the OnePlus 13s.
The OnePlus 15 is gearing up for its grand launch in October, poised to succeed the acclaimed OnePlus 13. This highly anticipated smartphone recently made an appearance at a Qualcomm event in India, where exciting new details about its unique ‘Sand Dune’ colorway were revealed. Inspired by the serene beauty of “dune aesthetics,” the OnePlus 15 boasts an aerospace-grade metal mid-frame, promising a device that’s not only lighter than titanium but also offers superior wear resistance.
A Closer Look at the OnePlus 15 Design
In a recent update shared by OnePlus on Weibo, it was confirmed that the OnePlus 15 will showcase a minimalist camera design. This new look bears a strong resemblance to the squared-off camera module found on the recently released OnePlus 13s, moving away from the traditional circular island. This design choice is said to ensure a seamless integration with the phone’s back panel, offering a sleek and refined aesthetic.
One of the standout features of the upcoming OnePlus 15 is its aerospace-grade nano-ceramic metal mid-frame. This advanced material is not only an impressive 26.3 percent lighter than titanium but also boasts an incredible 134 percent improvement in wear resistance and 26.6 percent better heat dissipation. Complementing the stunning Sand Dune colorway, OnePlus is also introducing a novel ‘Quenching Texture’ which promises an “Ice Skin” feel, making the device cool and delightful to hold.
Designed for comfort, the OnePlus 15 incorporates R-angle corners, a design element often associated with Apple devices, ensuring a more ergonomic and secure grip for extended one-handed use. Furthermore, the company highlights the phone’s remarkably thin 1.15mm bezels, promising an expansive and truly immersive viewing experience.
OnePlus is committed to exceptional build quality, revealing that the upcoming handset will undergo several advanced manufacturing processes. These include micro-arc oxidation, which significantly boosts the durability and hardness of titanium, stainless steel, and anode aluminum alloy components. An ion coloring process is also employed to guarantee long-lasting color retention, while a nanoscale sealing process will provide robust protection against salt spray corrosion, ensuring the device’s longevity.
Perhaps the most exciting revelation is that the OnePlus 15 will be the company’s first smartphone to feature the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Users can also look forward to a super-smooth 165Hz display, with the device running on ColorOS 16, based on the latest Android 16. As its October launch approaches, we anticipate even more thrilling details about the OnePlus 15 to be unveiled.
