Today marks the exciting premiere of the new anime adaptation of Cat’s Eye, and it’s kicking things off in true stylish fashion! Fans are already buzzing about the dazzling creditless ending video, which perfectly captures the series’ blend of daring art robberies and secret identities, all set to a new take on a beloved classic theme song.
The original “Cat’s Eye” theme song, performed by singer-songwriter Anri in 1983, became an instant classic, forever linked with the series and a hit in its own right. Anri herself has re-recorded the track twice for previous adaptations. Now, the talented Ado steps into the spotlight, delivering a powerful new cover as the anime’s ending theme. Ado also lends her voice to the show’s exhilarating new opening theme, “Magic.” The creative duo MimicryMeta masterfully crafted the ending animation, immersing viewers in Hitomi Kisugi’s fascinating dual life – serving coffee by day and executing audacious art heists by night.
You can catch all the action as Cat’s Eye streams exclusively on Disney Plus’ Star brand. The first six episodes are available starting today, September 26, with episodes 7 through 12 slated to release weekly from December 26 onwards.
The stellar main cast brings these iconic characters to life:

The enduring legacy of Cat’s Eye began with Tsukasa Hojo’s original manga, which was serialized by Shueisha in Weekly Shonen Jump from September 1981 to January 1985 and collected into 18 volumes. Coamix currently releases an English version of the manga, allowing new audiences to discover the thrilling adventures.
The story follows the three Kisugi sisters – Hitomi, Rui, and Ai – who lead seemingly ordinary lives as café owners. By night, however, they transform into the infamous “Cat’s Eye,” a notorious group of art thieves. Their high-stakes mission? To reclaim every piece of art authored by their acclaimed genius painter father, Heinz, who mysteriously vanished. The irony is especially thick for Hitomi, who is romantically involved with Toshio, the very police officer assigned to catch the “Cat’s Eye” thief!
As the sisters meticulously recover their father’s artworks, a much larger conspiracy gradually unravels. They face the constant threat of being exposed by Toshio or, even worse, becoming targets of the bloodthirsty syndicate that betrayed their father, stealing his work and fame. Many members of this powerful organization were once his closest apprentices and art collectors, making the stakes incredibly high. With each daring heist, the sisters delve deeper into a dangerous web, desperate to uncover the truth about their missing father before they are caught or silenced forever.
