Actor Varun Dhawan is set to star in the upcoming film ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,’ directed by Sashank Khaitan. Dhawan recently shared his thoughts on the film’s core message, stating that it doesn’t aim to change people’s lives or preach. Instead, he highlighted that the movie is designed to lift spirits and evoke a sense of joy, reminiscent of the era when moviegoers would leave the theater with a smile. “We don’t make any promises about changing your life with this film. But what we do promise is that we will change your mood,” Dhawan told India Today.
He elaborated on the film’s intention, explaining, “This is not a preachy film or something where we’re giving gyan (advice). It’s about going back to the time when you’d watch a movie and walk out with a big smile.” Dhawan believes such feel-good films are essential in today’s times, suggesting that they can even help mend personal relationships and foster positivity.
Discussing the upcoming box office clash with Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ on October 2, Dhawan expressed his perspective. He acknowledged ‘Kantara’ as a significant film, praising its predecessor. However, he stressed that both ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ and ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ are distinct in their storytelling, and he sees ample space for diverse films to thrive at the box office.
‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ also features Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf. The film’s plot, as hinted by the trailer, involves Varun’s character proposing to Sanya Malhotra’s character, facing rejection, and then attempting to win her back with the help of Janhvi Kapoor. The storyline takes a turn when Janhvi’s character’s ex reappears, leading to unexpected developments as Varun and Janhvi’s characters get closer.
